Pharmacy Cares shares information about the help you can find at your local pharmacy. There are about 14,500 community pharmacies in the United Kingdom. Together they care for almost 68 million people.
Pharmacists are the medicines experts in your community. Their work centres around medicines including supply and advice about how to use those medicines safely. Alongside that pharmacists provide care for patients in a wide range of ways some of which are less well known.
Pharmacy Cares exists to help patients understand how to use their pharmacy and about the many ways in which pharmacists and their teams care for their health. It aims to raise awareness of what pharmacy does and can do for patients, not what pharmacy is. We recognise the value in the work of others who have similar aims and seek to complement that work not replace it.
Pharmacy Cares is not owned by anyone, it is owned by everyone – it is a movement. We are not an organisation, we don’t have a head office, we don’t have any funding and we aren’t making any profit. We are a group of pharmacists who want to share information about how pharmacists and their teams help patients across the United Kingdom, day in day out.
If you are inspired and want to share positive messages about community pharmacy please feel free to use the words and images we have used on this site and on our social media channels with the hashtag #pharmacycares. If you want to join in and contribute in other ways get in touch.
Pharmacy Cares is as big as the group of people involved. The more we share the more people can benefit.
