Pharmacists and their trained teams are there for you when you need them and they care for your whole health, both your physical and your mental wellbeing. Around four times as many people visit a pharmacy for health advice than see any other healthcare profession. We are there at the heart of your community.
Our aim is to help you live well for longer. We do this by working with others in the NHS to support you to manage your health, whether that be a common ailment or a serious long term condition.
This care goes beyond supplying your medicines on prescription or when purchasing treatments over the counter. Pharmacists are highly trained clinicians who are your expert in medicines – what they are, what they’re for, how they work and how to use them safely. So don’t be afraid to ask for help and advice about your treatment, its what we are here for.
In addition, we will help you prevent ill health through advice and support on healthy lifestyles such as stopping smoking, alcohol consumption, sexual health or healthy diet and weight that might otherwise result in a serious illness. Many also offer a service to measure your blood pressure or other health risk factors and provide vaccinations to reduce the risk of infection.
